23rd Speed Dating ANOTHER BLAST

It was yet another blast!

23rd May speed dating event left many singles smiling away with the excitement. 21 people took up the speed dating experience last Saturday, with a few noticeable comebacks from our previous participants.

It was surprising how this time; the participants were coming as early as 1 pm to the event and treated themselves to a sumptuous lunch before getting all gear up for the session.

When we started, we noticed 3 big groups on the bigger tables while the rest of the other participants were sitting on the couples table. We then quickly realized that some of them were coming in groups, hence they were more comfortable mingling in their very own clique.

Realising this and eagerly wanting them to break away from their usual comfort, we quickly asked them to mingle around with people they are not familiar with and conduct a quick 40 second interview during the ice breaking session. It worked well until we realized that the participants this time were quite shy and mostly decided to mingle around with their own gender - ‘girlfriends’/’boyfriends’.

It was probably a good strategy and serves as a good warm up as when we officially rung the first bell to start our speed dating event, they appear more calm and confidence to chat with their dates.

We concluded the event slightly before 5 pm, and some decided to hang around right after at the restaurant. It was yet another thumbs up from the participants.
